Institute of Professional Auditors (IPA) was officially registered on December 5, 2000. Founded in June 2000 by 39 companies from 16 cities of Russia.

Members of Institute of Professional Auditors are not only auditing organisations, but also Territorial Institutes of Professional Auditors ( branches of IPA). The IPA organizational structure approved by members - founders, allows Institute carry out a large scale work, having a small staff, on various issues, which are in the competence of created committees and the commissions.

The Institute takes part in the arrangements aimed at rendering assistance to IPA members in the organization of works on obligatory audit of the state unitary enterprises, in work on a bill "Of auditors activity", in development of procedures of self-regulation, including programs of distribution of standards and quality control of auditors services.

In June 2000 HLB Prime Advice ACG stood as one of the founders of IPA.
